Hello
Live in a small apartment and I drive the wife crazy with my brewing. I don't have a lot of storage space but I do have a walk-in closet that helps. I was contemplating buying a conical fermenter that I could hang on the wall. My beer was tasting so much better and was much clearer when I secondary fermented it. I had made a mistake when I put a tap on my original tapping bucket and put the tap up too high ( top of tap is just above the 5 liter mark on a 25 liter bucket, about 5 gallons) and have to tilt the bucket to bottle those last couple of liters. After looking at smaller conical fermenters I decided to use this bucket. When I tapped it over to the secondary bucket I left almost all the sediment behind. I washed it and re-used the yeast. The batch after secondary fermentation came out great.
So the moral is is you are limited on space and don't want a lot more equipment, put another tap on a bucket above the 2 liter (1/2 GALLON) mark and use that to draw off the beer above the trub. Been working great so far.

The Ale Pail bottling buckets work great for this as well, and let you take easy samples without having to open your bucket.
