So last year I made a mash tun using

And now I am switching up the braided hose for a copper pipe which i believe is 1/2" now I am not sure what to get at the hardware store to try and get this to attach to my current set up. I have been using it with original barbs and just sliding it on and that seems to work but I have to be careful stirring my mash or I knock the pipe off. Any tip and suggestions would be great
