I'm new to the forum, I've browsed it quite a bit (including using a few recipes), but I'd like to get into making larger batches. I built a kegerator a couple weeks ago. And I might have a line on a couple 50l kegs for cheap.
My current brew pot is 32quart, and I was just using a bucket for fermenting.

So I'll need something a bit bigger
What is your opinion on a ceramic fermentor?
A simple conical fermentor, slip cast from ceramic and glazed. This one is 66liter.
The only downside I can think of is it would be heavy, 45lb empty (with a 12mm wall) and a bit fragile.
I was given the idea and came up with this:

After molding and before firing ports can be added for the heating element.
Or sins it's non conductive, I was debating integrating an element into the ceramic. Nichrome ribbon is cheap.

Also some sort of cooling coil, and a stand. Valve at the bottom for draining.
The opening at the top matches a bucket screw top I have, so it would seal fairly well (it has a rubber o-ring).

A lot of work, but materials are pretty cheap. About $250 for setup and $100 per fermentor.

Probably a tad crazy, but I'd like your opinion.
