"We're releasing our Side Project Collaboration today called Leaner. A leaner is when a peach is so juicy you have to lean forward or it spills on you. 100% Oak Fermented Saison fermented with both Casey and Side Project's cultures. Aged with over 3 pounds per gallon Flamecrest Colorado Peaches. The Saison we both brewed was a higher gravity version of our house Saison recipe. So this beer is basically a higher gravity version of Casey Family Preserves but with Side Project's cultures. Noticeably more acidic. A great showing of both our cultures.

For the public, anyone holding a ticket to the sold-out release today willl be able to buy 2 bottles at $30 per bottle. Glasses available for $10 a pour."

after spending as much as I did last year on every release..... boy Im glad I didn't drop a chunk of change today even though a lot good sounding beer getting released today...

I don't know what SP hype means, but okay?
I'm just talking about beer, not hyping anything...

it's a collab with Side Project and there beers are usually pretty hyped up and sell pretty high on after market sites and trade very well as well..

I don't pay that much attention to the after market and trading, thanks for explaining.
It looks like a great beer, I just hope my friends will share when I get back to town!

Here's a review from the DBT facebook group.

"Leaner. It's absolutely amazing"

Sounds like my beer "reviews" :p

Here's a little more descriptive one:

"Great balance between fruit and acidity, but quite a bit more acid than I've gotten on troys other beers. Very dry."

Hopefully it's not too acidic as I really like how Casey beers aren't overly acidic, but I like some dryness in beers like this so who knows. Glad I get to try it at least in the near future.

Edit to add I'm really excited for the grape beers. Should be fun to try those.

Not surprised to hear it's very acidic. The majority of Side Project's 375ml fruits are acid bombs. Sometimes the massive fruit helps cover it. Other times it's Missouri Crooked Stave.

I totally agree. Some of the SP fruited stuff is tasty I just personal think it's hard to drink a lot of it.

Is anyone heading to casey before the next release to pick up their member bottles? Will send a nice thank you box if you can grab mine as well :)

I'm going to be heading out to Steamboat in February. From a quick bit of research it appears Casey will not be open in February?

If that is the case what is the best spots to hit on my way from Denver to Steamboat to try and find some bottles? I will check back in February before the trip too but just curious if I need to plan any detours on my way.

Not opened in February. Coopers in Glenwood Springs seems to be the place. That isn't on the way though.

Release was awesome! Glad to be a part of a good one for my first time at Casey. I will be back in March for sure!

Thanks everyone for the tips on food/lodging in the area, much appreciated.

Cheers!
