Hello,

i am new to the forum and have a beginners question.
i am not sure what i should buy to start my first brew. Ive done a lot of research, but cant decide what would be my best option. i cant decide on whether i should go with 2 five gallon glass carboys, or if i should go with 2 plastic fermenter's?
im not really worried about spending, even though the plastic fermenter's look like the are substantially cheaper.
any input would be greatly appreciated...thank you for your time

CHEERS!!

This is one of the most common questions asked on here, and has been done to death, including a thread yesterday and the day before.

You'll find out that just about any question about brewing that can be phrased as a -vs- "argument" the answer is usually, "it doesn't matter, they all work, it's a matter of preference." The pro-con analysis thread is a good indication of it, you can see the reasoning behind it, but in reality, it's all about what will work for you. In brewing we talk about developing your own individual brewing process. You try different things, and figure out what works for you and what doesn't.

They all make beer, none is any better or worse than any other. It's simply a matter of preference. And that ultimately you will have to decide for yourself.

If there's not enough opinions there for you (because that's really all you will get, since in truth the answer doesn't matter they all work fine), you can look at the similar threads box below, and the similar threads box of each of those threads, and then some and then some....

there is a sticky for pros cons check it out.Depends what you want both are good.Search first then post.Welcome to the forum most people here are very helpfull and the more time you spend learning the better your beer will be.

There's also this good thread to look at, that will show you the arguments for each of the -vs- threads that pop up daily on here. This Vs. That - A Pro/Con Analysis

A good thing to think about is that, since you are starting out, any question you may have, has probably been asked and answered all ready, and if it's really important, or asked a ton, more than likely it's been answered as a sticky at the top of each section of the forum.

Welcome to the forum and the hobby by the way. It's an obsession. :mug:

If only there were some way to search through previous questions to find the hundreds of previous answers before having to start a whole new thread on the subject. Oh well...I look forward to more glass vs plastic / aluminum vs stainless / sanitizer vs bleach / partial vs all grain / etc threads tomorrow.

Of course...I kid, I kid. here, check this out: http://tinyurl.com/5sckfzo

ps: welcome to the forums, lots of great info here. I just had to let you know that every single question you can ever imagine has probably already been asked already so....you get the idea.
