carbonation question

typically, after bottling, does it take the full two weeks and more to carbonate beer? 12, or 22 oz bottles. it's a maple, nut brown ale clone.with the proper amount of priming sugar added prior to bottling.

Ive had beers carb in a week before, but that has not happened very many times.
I find mine usually take 3 weeks to reach the optimal level. Once I had an ale that took 3 months. I just had to be patient, I was happy I didn't give up on it too soon
