Since my coffee table was already full of bottles, i started looking around the house for places to leave the latest batch I had bottled.

At that point my wife said, "I think its starting to get ridiculous when you are trying to store beer bottles in the baby's play yard".

I lol'd, but then I wondered, does anyone have any ferm chamber they use just for carbing? Does controlling the femp at that point matter?

Yup, though most people just call it a closet. Flavor profile is already developed, so as long as you don't have wild swings or extreme temps, doesn't really matter.

One of the advantages of kegging can be smaller footprint for your batches once completed. If you're making 5 gallon batches, one keg will require less floor space than the same batch size in bottles. Of course with the right size keezer or brew fridge you can store them in it until a tap becomes free. If you have the option, a two shelf unit should be able to hold many batches (fpr 5 gallon kegs). If you go with 3 gallon kegs, have more shelves in the shelving unit to hold them.

I really do enjoy pulling brew through the faucet/tap when I want some. Only sad part is when a keg kicks that you don't have another kag of (same brew) ready to take it's place. :D

and it took only 4 posts for someone to comment about kegging. over/under was 5. lol

i use a closet...it holds all my brew stuff. I have shelving for empty bottles and carbing bottles.
