Capper survey.

Thinking of either geting a Italian all metal bottle caplets or a super agate table top capper. I usually make 6 to 12 gallons a month and need something that can take a good amount of usage. Anyone have thoughts?

I have one of the all metal Italian cappers that I bought after breaking my red Barron capper. I love it, it's very durable. It needs to be oiled every other use, but it works great.

I'll never use a hand capper again after getting an Italian bench capper... Found the hand capper never got a tight seal like the bench capper does

Red Barron is awful dont ever waste your money. I have the all metal italian and it works great. Like palys said it needs oiled every so often. I have no experience with the bench capper. A lot of people use them. If I could snag one for a good price I wouldn't hesitate though.

Bought the bench caller. 100% better seal. Besides oiling it, is there anything else I should be worried about, or do?

I have a very old bench capper I got at an auction a few years ago. Since I got it I never used anything else. It is faster and more reliable.

I just rinse mine off and oil the moving parts after a bottling session. It has lasted for about 50 years already, so I have no worries.

I have big, ancient, cast iron benchtop capper that will probably last 1000 years. Beats the heck out of a hand capper to be sure.
