So I was just the recipient of 6-7 cases of old barn bottles from a homebrewer that past away about 7 years ago and in one of the boxes was four 1 gallon jugs he used for wine. Now my question is can I ferment in a primary and then split the batch in to the various jugs to finish off the fermenting? Also would it be wise to dry hop or add anything in these jugs if it possible?
P.S. side question. How would you go about cleaning old barn bottles with all sorts of stuff inside them?
