Can I lay my regulator on its side ?

I'm trying to build a cooler for 1/2 comerical keg out of a couple of trash cans. I would like to lay the regulator and tank over on top of the keg but I don't know if that will effect how it works or not ?? Any advice would help thanks.

No!!! Liquid CO2 will enter the regulator and quickly render it useless. The tank must be upright.

you can slant the tank, but when full >~70*. if you get liquid in there for too long, and the diaphragm will be no more.

or have a welding shop install an anti-siphon pickup inside the cylinder, but then you have to make sure its turned the right way or it'll still pickup liquid CO2 and kill the regulator.
