I've never had a double bock before.

I have such a wide selection of beer available I could drink a beer I like everyday and probably never repeat a beer. So given that I tend to stick with the styles I like and sample something new every so often. I got round to the Double Bock today.

Nice.

It's Definitely not a session beer. The reason I chose it today is because I'm only having one beer so it may as well be a Big'un. I don't think I would want two in a row or to drink anything else after it. It would be a good one to finish a session.

I haven't had Cains', but my favorite has to be Spaten Optimator. Might be because it's one of the few German beers that regularly survives shipping to the US.

Spaten Optimator is good, my favorite and the inspiration for making my Obfuscator. Paulaner Salvator and Ayinger Celebrator are also good dopplebocks if you want to continue exploring this style...
