I've made a few batches of homebrew, and am thoroughly enjoying this new hobby. I would love to get my hands on 2 cases of empty-no-label if possible stubbies to bottle my beer in. I cannot find them for sale ANYWHERE, and my only choice for now seems to be to buy either the 11 oz Sessions with the oh-so-lovely screw-on caps, or the Red Stripe sixpacks and razor off the painted labels. I'd rather not, since that'll run me upwards of $50 + deposit, and I'd rather use that money towards making my own beer instead of buying someone else's.

Hey eviltwinofjoni,

I have a few ideas for you. 1st, to answer your question, http://www.countrywines.com/shopsite/store.htm has the bottles you're looking for. $11.50 for a 24 pack of 12 oz. bottles. They're a bit pricey there, but great service and great people.

http://www.northernbrewer.com/bottling.html has the same package above for $9.95.

You might also think about buying "Grolsch" style flip top bottles. They are amazingly convenient! Although, the prices on these style bottles is a bit more expensive.

HIH,
Dave

Ahhh, stubbies. I survived How many years of Lucky/ Oly stubbies? I don't think you'll find them in a homebrew store (gas stations, yes). As far as I know they're all screw tops, but you can try capping those. Some people have had good luck capping the screw caps

I know the crown cap stubbies exist, the Red Stripe bottles are that exact thing, but all the homebrewers shops only carry the longnecks. Picture is as such: http://static.flickr.com/28/37729945_50bbc37ce7_m.jpg I like the longnecks, but I guess I just like the stubbies for the aesthetic reasons. I know I'm not imagining these! Oh well, looks like I'll have to *gasp* buy some beer at the store just for the bottles. Spoonta, I'd be glad to stop by and pick up the bottles, but Western Australia is a bit of a commute from the States, my wife may not let me go. All my beer drinking friends like to drink Pabst Blue Ribbon instead. bleh. It's always tasted like wet cardboard to me. They don't like me mentioning that it costs less for me to make my beer than for them to buy theirs. heheheh.

Do you know anyone that does home restoration? My Aunts new husband restores damaged homes for a living and told me he comes across tons of bottles that people have told him to toss while fixing the home. Gave me 100 Stubbies just last week.

Now if he could score me some swingtops...
