Hey there,
I'm buying some hop rhizomes later today and I was wondering if anyone have any tips? Like price wise? Also how do I know if the rhizomes will turn out to be male or female plants? And what are signs of a healthy rhizome? I'm sure this farmer is pretty fair person I just don't want to walk into this like a first time car buyer!

Hello !

Price rhizomes: usually between 4$ - 7$ each (around 8" cutting). Healthy rhizomes will be firm and have some white/red buds on it...this is where the bine will start growing.

From a hop farmer, you should only get female plants, except if he is breeding hop (most don't, they grow female plants to get the strobiles used for brewing).

Have fun !
