Bung dropped into fermenter

Hi there...so this is a first for me...I pushed a bit too hard on the bung while shaking my carboy to aerate the wort and wouldn't you know? The damn thing fell in. It was sanitized so I'm not really too worried about an infection (though if you have a different opinion I'd like to hear it!). My main concern is will this have an effect on flavor? I'm just thinking a chunk of rubber sitting at the bottom of the carboy for a week or two might impart some off flavors. Or not...?

You will be fine, shouldn't have any issues.

No problem at all. Do you know how many of us have fermented with a bung in the carboy? A lot more than just me!

When you are ready to clean it, use a coat hanger shaped like a large hook!
