Folks,
I am stumped. I am headed to Qatar and cannot find a thing about whether or not I am allowed to make beer there (in any quantity). The beer there is terribly expensive and I like making my own anyway.

Anyone know if its legal to brew in Qatar?? If so, I will pack a couple of supplies. If not.......guess I will learn how to make soda or something..

No idea - but having spent time there, I offer my deepest sympathies. Enjoy the weather in March and April. After that, you won't find much to enjoy for a while.

For sure you can ferment anything just add yeast. It would be the best brew but its alcohal. in large quanities I am not sure. Making beer.....better to call the empassy before leaving. The empassy could give you better advice I would say

I think he meant, "will they cut off my hands for making alcohol over there" not "will yeast perform their biological functions of converting sugars into CO2 and alcohol in Qatar"

Your wet bar looks very nice. I too have one. But, its one of those 1980's versions that takes up half my basement (looks like an older saloon bar with the brass foot rail, padded elbow rest swivel chairs, mirror and liquor shelves/ sink/ fridge on the bar keep side and the little track lighting above.
I like yours better. Your doing a bang up job.

they are not going to cut your hands off for buying yeast in the local store. I am pretty sure the worst that would happen is that they would deport you, even if that.

Also you can check on thier website. If there is nothing about alcohal then your home free, But making it they might look down on it because maybe they think you would want to sell it or something like that. For personal consumption, I cant see how it would be a problem. Also if your brave enought just but take some home brew stuff with you and if it goes through costomes then your in. If not then all they would do is confiscate it.

Better to call the empassy or consulate in DC or where your located in the states.
