My son is at Ramstein. He just bought the same Coopers DIY Kit that I have. I really like this FV. Anyhow, he is about halfway thru his primary run.. about 6 days or so into it. He made a mistake so, he'll be wanting to back this brew up with another.

He could order some stuff from Amazon.. He could probably get some fixin's from a local place if he knew how/where.

All this to say.... Is there anyone here who has been to that base and did any brewing there? He's not sure how or where to post a message to find other brewers either on base or in the area.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks, Bill

There is a military brewer club on this forum and I posted a thread to military brewers but none stationed in Germany so far.

Here in NJ, we have a brewery called the High Point Wheat Beer Co. They call their beer line Ramstein. The brewer, Greg Zaccardi, trained in Germany, and named his beer line after that military base.

I can't help with your original question, but if you reach out to Greg, he might have some advice. I've met him twice at a brewery open house - really nice guy, and a great brewer.

There is a contact link on his brewery page, and the link below tells the Ramstein name story.

Good luck to you and your son.

It's cool that you both brew, let alone both with cooper's fermenters. I have the cooper's micro brew FV myself. But my buddies haven't been station in Germany in many years. I could talk to my nephew though. He was stationed in Germany, still goes back there & to a'stan as an advanced weapon trainer, something to that effect. He might know something?

+1 to that! Please thank him for serving for us and You and your family as well.

I just got my son home safe in June after serving 9 yrs overseas in the Air Force. He actually learned how to brew with his flight team in England at Mildenhall AFB :mug:

Thanks guys. Yep, Brian is in for the haul, I think. Been to Iraq twice and Afgan once.. Back safe in Germany for a while with time to spend with his wife and our grandson... Just made Tech Sgt. Not sure where he'll go next.. but, while in Germany, he was sent to a couple of NATO bases in old Iron Curtain countries for a couple of weeks to install and train locals on some runway safety eqpt.

He'll get the process down.. but, It'd be great for him to have someone to rub shoulders with.. especially there on base. That way they could brew the batch together.

Best I can do right now is via Skype.. dang, that's a great service for family.

Never brewed at Rammstein, but I sure drank a lot of beer there! :tank:

I could swear I saw a post from someone stationed in Germany saying that there is a homerbew shop somewhere in K-town. Maybe search Keiserslautern and see what comes up.
