First brew day ever using the brewers hardware in line filter. I mainly bought it to keep pellet hops out of my plate chiller. Found out that I can use it to filter in 3 different places in the process. I'm currently fly sparging and using it between the mash tun and boil kettle. Just popped it right on top of my RIMS tube. Theres not a speck in the pot as seen from the attached picture. That's 6 gallons in the boil kettle and you can still clearly see the heating element.

I'll update as the day goes on, but I've got say for right now ... 5 stars.

I have one and don't have any clogging issues. To be honest though, I never really see much stuff caught in it since I whirlpool. I could probably remove it and not notice any change but since I have it I just leave it in place.

Well ... lessons learned. You absolutely cannot skip a good whirlpool with this thing. I probably had to clean it about 20 times. It wouldn't run 10 seconds without clogging.

That being said, I unhooked it and did a strong whirlpool for 15 mins and let it settle while I ate dinner, so maybe 30 minutes. When I went to transfer to the fermenter, it worked like a champ.

I'll probably look into getting a larger pore sleeve when I get around to it. On the plus side, my plate chiller was as clean as when it started. When I rinsed, water coming g out looked as clean as going in. No hops at all got in there.
