So I have a problem. I have a single tier brew stand with 2 keggles and 1 10 gallon megapot. I like to do 11 gallon batches but my current brew keggle is slightly too small. I want to get another boil pot and use the current brew kettle as the HLT. My issue is I don't know how big to go. I'm looking at the 20G Blichmann pots but then I think... should i just get the 30 gallon, then I need a new mash tun... or do I just get the 45 gallon... How big have people gone and at what point does the brew size get too big if you aren't going commercial?

I eventually want to brew 1 barrel or bigger batches so I don't want to have to keep rebuying equipment if possible. Any suggestions for a good large brew kettle other than the Blichmann?

The way I see it is you can always brew a smaller batch in a bigger kettle, but not the other way around, so go big. I have a single tier HERMS and if I were planning on going to the next size up I would find a 50 gal stainless steel drum. I've seen them for sale before for like 200-300$, and maybe what, 100$ shipping? cheaper and bigger than blichman, just add valves etc. this guy uses them. http://www.lamabrewery.com/
good luck!
