i transferred from primary to secondary too early (after ~48 hours) mainly because I'm over anxious and also b/c CO2 generation activity slowed down big time.

So in the secondary, not much was happening either, so I threw in a pack of Nottingham dry yeast. Not much happened.

SO, I took the bottle to the sink and ran a warm water bath thinking maybe thw brew was too cold for the yeast to activate.

Voila, floculation started up-- everything started churning w/ convection currents, and the yeast woke up.

I checked the temp and brought it up to 80F.

I took the bottle back to the back room that's around 70F and the activity went back down to ~ 1 airlock bubble/minute.

The SG is still stuck at 1.03.

Is there any hope for this batch? Should I throw it out and start over?

Thanks guys,
Mark

Let it take its course.
Keep that baby around 65-70 degrees for another day or 2 as well, make sure the yeast have a nice warm place to multiply.

Is this an extract or AG batch?

Patience Grasshopper. May the force be with you.

Just give it time. If you arent sure just leave it sit for a few more days.
