What do you use to organize and store your smaller/mid-sized brew day items? I'm looking for something waterproof/plastic, preferably vented, with different sized compartments that - ideally - can be reconfigured. Any ideas?

I just use Tupperware containers. Not vented but spider proof! I store my brew stuff in a small closet in my basement. My ferm chamber is there, too.

I keep everything I take outside in one box - BIAB bag(s), hop spider, test and measurement tools, Fermcap S, etc. Everything!

I have another box with the things I use downstairs - 3 piece wine thief, air lock, air pump, etc.

In another box is where I keep my salt additions.

Another box has my DME, priming sugar, etc.

It has really help me to organize and compartmentalize my "stuff".

I just use a big Rubbermaid tub. Recently cleaned it out of things that I never use. It's big enough to fit just about everything but my autosiphon.

Barely breaking zero on the grain organization front here, everything goes into a pair of 50g wheeled (trash) bins.
Depending on how full my bags of base grains, specialties could be chucked in one bin or both, on top or under.
It's always a fishing expedition the night before a brew day.

The only saving grace is tight inventory control, so I know what I need is in there, somewhere ;)

Everything else actually is organized in a cabinet...

Cheers!

I use a plastic bin w/ a snap on lid approx 8x12x4 to store all my basic brew day items for easy transport to club brews, etc. I keep my thermometer, refractometer, small scale, multi tool, cups, collapsible pint glass, scissors, adjustable measuring spoon, small bottle of StarSan, baggies of B-Brite, adjustable wrench

Im looking for a tupperware or rubbermaid container thats big enough to house all my rubber stuff like racking cane and botteling wand then i can also use it to soak those items in pbw.

12.5kg bags of frequently used grains are stored in 20L snap-lock buckets from the hardware store - our version of the "homers" you guys in the States talk about. I have 3 20Ls for wheat, pils and pale malts. Other malts get stored in smaller containers or zip lock bags. These all get stored in a large box in the side room of my house. Equipment has its own small box in the same room.

Here's my brew area... nothing much to look at really. I used a few bins to keep all the clutter in and all the big stuff I just try to organize the best I can. I don't have a lot of room so keeping it pretty isn't really an option and I don't have a lot of space to put any big storage devices in there. It does stay 62-64 degrees year round in there though which is good for the yeast I use. I have to move my fermentors to the top of the basement steps to warm up the beer a little so the yeast can clean things up. All in all my setup works for now.

EDIT: No idea why the pic got turned sidways... It looked fine when I uploaded it and I didn't take it with my phone sideways... so, sorry about that!

I use a toolbox.

with top compartments, inside tray, etc. holds most of everything I need, except my mash paddle and autosiphon.

Like most.. I use one large tuff stuff bin, with several smaller bins inside to organize different things. One is for brewing, another for bottling/kegging etc. It's not perfect, but it's easier then the way I did it before.. Everything all over the place, and several trips in and out of the house. Its hard when you have to build and take down everything for each brew day. It would be really nice to have one spot to make and store everything

I'm using wire racks right now but will be getting Rubbermaid/ flat containers with locking lids to better sort and store my gear, I have to lug everything out side to brew but its all part of the cool brewing experience.

The one thing that has remained consistent over 25 years of brewing is the Craftsman toolbox I use to hold my small items. I bought that toolbox with the proceeds (all of them) of my first ever summer job as a Boy Scout camp counselor when I was 15. My daughters are 19 and 23 as a point of reference. It is too small and one of the latches broke years ago but I just can't replace it.

I have water additions, PH calibration solutions, small plastic cups, various longer pieces like hydrometers, pipette for lactic acid, longer tubing for racking, scissors, and so on.

I also use a rolling cabinet in which I store my brew day stuff. I used to schlep it all from the basement to the garage and back again each brew day, pain in the butt. The cabinet rolls into a corner of the garage, the doors keep flies and other nasties out, and it's organized (btw, $209 at Sam's Club. I wish I had a spot for another, I'd get another. :))

Bulk malt goes in 5 gallon buckets in my walk in pantry. This time of year it doubles as my fermenting room where it is 64 degrees in winter.

I use various sized Rubbermaid containers with latching lids. I have one smaller one that carries all of the primary stuff I need for my brewday. I can essentially grab it and go brew. I have larger rubbermaid containers that store all of my other items. If you are looking for a smaller box that is vented, you might look at getting one of these:

I try to store all my essentials in my equipment when not in use. I use a small plastic bucket for all of my small basic brew day essentials. Timer, thermometer, grill lighter, water additions, spices, ect. The bucket along with my oven mits I use for brewing fit right into the kettle I use to heat my strike and mash water in at the end of the brew day. The rest of the stuff needed for a brew day such as mash paddle, immersion chiller, and pitcher I store in my boil kettle and mash tun. Brew day I grab both kettles, mash tun, and grab a burner n propane tank. Takes a whole 2 minutes to set up and start heating water.

I have a tool box that holds most of my stuff. Then I have a small rubbermaid container that holds my minerals, PH meter, gram scale, etc... The brew spoon, mash paddle, siphons and other long items stay in my smaller 7 gallon kettle. All of this stuff stays in my office closet.

Fermenters, buckets, grains, bottles, growlers, foldable table, etc... stay in the basement. They are all stacked in a corner, but I need to get a shelf of some sort to better organize it all.

Kegerator, keggle, chiller and burner stay out in the garage.

Every brew day I haul stuff up from the basement and from my office upstairs out to the garage for brew day. If we ever move again, I want to designate an area where I can keep all my brew gear in one area.

One large plastic storage container. It holds all my miscellaneous equipment. It isn't organized, but is easy to grab and have everything.
