"Bottling" in mason jar mugs?

SWMBO brought this up last weekend and I thought is was an interesting idea. I'm a newb (2 batches under my belt) but I don't see why it wouldn't work. As long as they were kept in the dark and out of the light.

What are some of the issues of using mason jar mugs to "bottle" your beer in? I guess one thing would be, how much pressure could they take.

Any thoughts on this weird idea?

Two issues:

1. They aren't designed to take pressure
2. They are designed to seal via a vacuum (sucking in), not pressing out.

Not to mention you would probably want to pour it out into another mug to drink it (sediment)

i can't imagine how it would be any different than in a growler. but i've never done it.
