Gentlemen,
I'd like to start off by saying that these forums and the knowledge you all share is unlike any other! I've been a creeper here for quite a while but this is my first post. Let's get down to business...
While bottling my Saison last night, the fiance actually broke my bottler. Luckily, I was already about 3 3/4 gallons into bottling, so I didn't have too much beer lost. However, I did try to save some of the remaining beer in a 1 gallon glass jug. All of the priming sugar was already mixed in with the beer for about 2.5 volumes.
I'm wondering if any of you guys have ever put a whole gallon of beer into a jug. Did the beer carbonate correctly? With that amount of beer in the container, do I have to worry about excessive amounts of CO2 that may blow my bottle to pieces? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
