Just done third BIAB and just bottled after 1 month of fermenting.
Want to ask....
I cleaned bottles out with star san. Mixed correctly.
Now does it matter that my bottles had slight bubbles from star san? When I bottled it? Have I ruined it?
There was no water or liquid left in bottles. Just slight bubbles.
I realise I need a bottle tree just didn't have the funds
Thanks

There are multiple threads on this. If you search you will find the phrase "Don't fear the foam". This is very true.

I don't even make an effort to remove the bubbles out anymore. Let it foam right up and rack, or bottle right on top.

Cheers

My first half dozen batches were done with Iodophor (no foam) and after that stuff ran out I bought Star San. It took me a little while to get over the fear of the foam, but it doesn't phase me and it will affect your taste/aroma in NO WAY. Both sanitizers are fine. IF you don't like the foam, stick with Iodophor. I've used both and don't notice a difference. When I have to buy more, I'll probably get Iodophor 'cause it's a bit cheaper, though it does leave some iodine staining in your primary bucket, but that's strictly cosmetic - like the foam, it doesn't hurt your beer in any way. Both sanitizers are good products.

Question: "Cleaned out with StarSan" -- StarSan is a sanitizer, you need something like PBW to clean. StarSan works really well sanitizing once the dirt is out, but if you've got organics crusted inside your bottles, you need clean first, then sanitize.

The foam is your friend. The foam will also help sanitize any air that gets in the bottles. Starsan will not effect flavor nor head retention.

This is so important; otherwise you end up with sanitised dirt.

Use the rack on your dishwasher (if you have one) sanitize the bottles then put them on the rack to drain. You do not want to let them dry out. Then the sanitized is no longer effective.

I like a little foam, it tells me when the bottle is about full.

Starsan will not leave any taste. If you leave Iodaphor in the bottle you could get an iodine taste. And it will stain your equipment. Other sanitizers??

Interesting. I've never had any problems with it before, but I'm definitely going to ask my local guy why he's never spoken up about that.

Thanks for the intel.
