Since my first pumpkin ale that went straight into the boil and also into the fermenter I would like to bag my pumpkin for the next batch. My pumpkin is in the boil for 30 minutes and the thing I'm worried about is with all that weight in the bag it will be sitting directly on the bottom of the kettle. I will be using a Blichmann floor burner and am thinking, from a lot of what I've read, is that the bag stands a high chance of melting. Is this the case? If so, how do I boil the pumpkin in the bag for 30 minutes without that happening? I don't have a false bottom, which I'm not sure if that would be the solution anyway.
