Hey All,

Just starting a brew here, and got some blue liquid out of my copper CFC that’s been sitting for a few weeks... I flushed it out, but curious if it’s anything to be worried about. Haven’t mashed in yet, so I can still call off the brew day if needed.

I’m assuming that a bit of cleaning water got caught in there after the last batch (cleaned with one-step, no rinse) and caused this. After I saw it drip out of the CFC outlet, I flushed with about a half-gallon of clean RO water. Think it’s clean enough to let ‘er rip?

One-Step uses hydrogen peroxide as an "oxygen-based cleaner" and H2O2 is hella tough on copper. If you left some behind it's not surprising it ate some of the copper from the inside (hence the blue).

Rinsing it for obviously much longer than you did the first time should obviate potential harm...

Cheers!
