Blow off tube with cream ale

My cream ale went crazy and I threw an emergency blow off tube on. Put the biggest tube I had in, but did not take up all the space. Soaked some cling wrap in starsans and wrapped it up. Think that is ok?

It sounds a little ghetto, but will probably work. People used to brew this stuff in open vats with no starsan!
Next time get a proper sized hose...just for good measure, which for the airlock outlet , should be 7/16" Inner diameter of the hose. I use a 1/2" ID and it actually works pretty good too.
