My Blichmann 10 gallon pot isn't a year old yet and I boil with it on a 65,000 BTU Camp Chef propane burner.

Is it normal for the bottom of these pots to develop uneven warp spots? It's not flat like it was when new. I can imagine a $50 pot doing that but a $300 pot? Is this what to expect from all of the Blichmann pots? I do have to report that there was an issue with the first one that I received, but it was handled immediately by the retailer that sold me the product.

I would contact Blichmann. If they're interested in backing up their high priced over-engineered products then they'll back it up. That is of course the warp is significant.

Nope! LMAO sorry, another HBT member around a year plus ago posted his warped Blichmann pot, John's reply, no replacement offered, "buy another one". I recall it was fired dry and was blamed as been overheated the reason. Kind of like a model gas engine, once fuel run thru it the guarantee is null and void.
I can't taste the diffierence of bling vs a keggle.

Pretty lame excuse IMO. Makes me that much more satisfied with my polished keggle, I get people all the time amused with a converted and polished keggle. I work for a US manufacturer of high quality products and although we have a published warranty we will quite often honor repairs or replacement parts far out of their warranty period. Some might question why but in the end of the day if people are willing to shell out a premium $$$ for a high quality US product they expect a certain level of service from the product and the company not excuses.

I bet your company also honors known damaged items beyond normal usage by people as in the long run they will have return customers vs dissatisfied ones who purchased cheap crap. I must add those high dollar failed items the manufacture does not honor their own warranties is a red flag for me not to buy from them. I'll treat my spare kegs with more respect now.

First my disclaimer... I'm not affiliated with Blichmann or Midwest Supplies....and this is not a commercial....and whatever other legal mumbo-jumbo that needs to be in this or not....consider it in this post...

OK.....all that being said...

Midwest Supplies sent me a new Blichmann 10 gallon Boilermaker replacement pot. I would recommend them to anyone asking about where they might make a purchase on any home brewing equipment. Their customer service is truly the best I've seen in any industry...and I've seen a lot. They were totally professional and understanding of my frustration with the quality issue with the warpage of the Blichmann kettle.

They put up with my nasty-grams when I felt like Blichmann wasn't going offer to replace the kettle. I hope that in the end, that he was agreeable to the exchange. But just to be fair, I don't know what goes on between him and the vendors that sell his products....so he might have very well said that he would exchange it.

Bottom line....Midwest Supplies is more than just another vendor. They have built a strong business relationship with me. They have stood behind all of the products that they have sold to me. They will continue to be my number one homebrew supplier. So there you have it.....

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year!

I bet Midwest Supplies wants to keep you around many more years with thousands of dollars more spent by you with them, why would they let a pot screw this future happy customer when P R is a win win I ask?
I bet Midwest will get a refund or at worse eat it at a smaller loss with their cost vs what you paid for it.
Maybe Blickman (single "N" for a reason) that have brewers on the Bling Hook lowered their quality a bit too low with getting too greedy for the buck?
I still can't taste the bling in my bier.

I have had positive experiences with MW regarding quality issues with their goods, in my case I found stress cracks around the neck of a well cared for carboy that had been use very little. Currently Brewmasters Warehouse is a better vendor for me due to geography as well as their pricing but I wouldn't hesitate to support MW in the future again.

I don't know why your posts are so negative nor do I really care. My post was for people that use products from Midwest or are considering using product from Midwest, so that they know that in my opinion that Midwest is reputable.

How much I spend or what I spend it on should be of no concern to you.

I make homebrew at my home....the way I want. You make your homebrew at your home any way that you want.

I noticed your first post flame negativity and I took the high road. I have completed this on a positive note.

You've continued to show your assinine affectations and jejune babblement.

Good luck in your brewing pursuits and try to enjoy your life....RDWHAHB

And that's all I have to say about that.

Blichmann makes a great product. Metal is metal no matter what you paid for it or what brand is on it and that can mean that heat can cause problems or there can be defects.

I am glad you were taken care of.

I fully agree with Midwest as a reputable, you must of took my reply wrong as I support Midwest myself purchasing from them quite often. Large as they are I recall in the above reply that they would of taken care of a problem in house, a hats off to them, you must of read my reply wrong. I never said bad your too sensitive.

The BlingWarp items that's a different story, even a neighbor had a warped pot that we gave a bloody try to straighten out but failed. Return to Blingman, no way "buy a replacement" yeah right.
It went into a 50 ton press with cut supports to handle the applied pressures to dewarp it. Warp came back once heated again it's now a Bling flower pot.

I sent back a Perlick SS faucet that was damaged before shipping, MW had a replacement shipped before they received the returned damaged faucet.
This clear things up? Hope so, if not it's your problem understanding what you read. prost.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from Midwest and have also been extremely pleased with their service.

That sucks about Blichmann not standing behind their products. Anyone who puts out that much $$$ for equipment certainly is experienced enough to treat it right. At least you've helped me decide what not to buy. I'm glad Midwest supported you.
