Guys I have a couple of questions regarding the use of the autosparge:

-- If you have a 15 gal MLT and switch between doing 5 and 10 gal batch sizes do you need to swap the stock 6" float arm with the optional 9" arm?

-- When you are ready for MLT cleanup, do you remove the entire assembly from the MLT for cleaning?

not sure I've got a 15 gal MLT but haven't done any 5 gal batches. The adjustment bracket provides a decent range of applicable volumes I think you might be fine unless you have unusually tall MLT.

No

I do with my keggle MT. Especially with a high gravity 10 gal vs a session 5 gal batch.

I emailed Blichmann off their web page about the arm length and John emailed back within a couple hours -- that's outstanding response IMO.

Anyway, the stock arm will work with the smaller batches but will allow more sparge water into the MLT before it meters the flow due the lower mash volume (which in hindsight is obvious now that I think about it). Swapping out the 6" for the 9" arm would keep the level for a 5 gal batch more or less on par with what occurs for a 10 gal batch with the 6" arm.
