Glass is possible to break and creates a nasty mess and possible injury. I use glass just because I have had them for years. If I buy any more it will be better bottles.

i have broken 3 glass carboys (luckily only while cleaning),been cut once, and so have been purchasing better bottles for all replacements.

I work with tools all day that require care and attention while operating them. Whenever I use my glass carboys I use the same care and attention. If you think about the temperature of liquid your adding to them while cleaning and handle them carefully, you'll never have to replace them. If you don't want to concentrate that much on this part of your process, then a BB may work better for you. They're still too new to the market to see how they hold up.
