My top three are:
Midnight Run
The Mission
Ronin

I know I excluded Casino and Goodfellas and several others. If I had to pick one I would say Midnight Run. I laugh everytime I see it.

Your choice?

He had a fairly funny part in "Brazil" also. I think he was a burglar. :D

Seriously? I've got that on DVD. Gotta go back and watch that now...

edit: and just to throw out on the dramatic side... maybe not his BEST performance but...

Cape Fear.

Awesome.

I have to say he's definitely gone down hill in the past 10-15 years though. What's the last drama he was even in? Casino?

Deer Hunter, Casino, Jackie Brown.

Raging Bull and Taxi Driver are about as perfect as acting performances get (IMO, of course). After that ... King of Comedy. Deer Hunter. Godfather 2. all the rest.

Taxi Driver
Godfather 2
Goodfellas
Ronin

He was bad ass in Cape Fear...despicable character...you'd love to hate and fear him. His best comedy was by far the two "Meet the Parents" movies. Analyze this was pretty good, too.

Casino gets an honorable mention...great movie, but not my favorite DeNiro character.

I don't think I've ever seen The Deer Hunter. Blasphemy, I know. I've also never watched Once Upon a Time in America all the way through. I think I now have plans for tonight...

Although his part was small he was very good in Jackie Brown " you were beautiful"

Goodfellas Theres something wrong with you Henry, why dont you get you f@cking shine

box, BaBa Booey

Ronin wasn't as good as I thought it would be. DeNiro was good in it and all, I just think it fell short on plot & turned into a car chase movie or something.
Raging Bull kicked ass.

I thought "The Good Shepherd" was a GREAT movie.
He had only a minor role, but then I remembered he also directed it.

Taxi Driver over Godfather 2. Godfather 2 is a better movie, but his performance in Taxi Driver was his best job.

IMO his best performance to date was Taxi Driver.

He was also very good in Deer Hunter, Heat, The Mission, Casino, Mean Streets, and Goodfellas.

Even though I liked The Untouchables, I didn't really care for his portrayal of Al Capone. Same thing with The Score, I think he was overshadowed by stellar performances from Norton and Brando in that one.

I haven't seen Righteous Kill with him and Pacino yet. Thinking about renting it, anyone know if it's any good?
