Hey all. I am wondering if anybody has a super cheap but good quality 80-100 qt stainless pot they would recommend. I saw a few on AHS, but they are 22g stainless, not sure if I like how thin that is, heck 20g is thin enough.

Anyway, I am going to use it for AG brewing with an electrical element in it. I do 10 gallon batches, but some times 90 minute boils means 14 or so gallons pre-boil volume. I want to protect against boil overs, of which I have had a couple little ones. Since it is electric brewing, bottom plate doesn't matter.

I currently have a 15g blingman MT and 15g Megapot HLT.

Thanks for any reccs.

I don't want junk - but I don't need a blingman for boiling only.

Cool - I actually bought this same "megapot", but the 60 quart (currently my HLT and BK) I was considering chasing in on one from northern brewer. A buddy said he saw one in the catalog for a 80qt pot with ball valve for $200. These are very sturdy pots.

My only concern was the boil off per 30 minutes. Do you have any idea what you typically get? Right now with the 60 quart I lose about a gallon per 30 minutes. I was concerned I would lose even more with this based on how wide it is.

That sounds pretty close to what I'm getting, my last batch I boiled off 1.75 gal during a 60 min boil.

$200 for the setup sounds like a pretty good deal. I paired this pot with a 3 piece ball valve and weldless bulk head from bargain fittings I also had to pick a step bit to drill the hole, so I was a little over 200 all said and done and I had to put it all together. But still very happy with setup.

Bargain fittings are the best cost/product as well. Looks like I might stick with megapot!
