I've been brewing for a year now (about 8 batches under my belt), and just received a keg as a gift, which is outstanding as I could do without the bottling process. However, it doesn't fit in the garage fridge and I don't want to buy anther fridge to make into a kegerator.

I noticed a product from the same company the keg was purchased from, called the Beerbox, which is two 2.75 gallon plastic containers with a built in tap and CO2 hookups. Here's the link:

My problem is that I can't find a review anywhere, and I don't want to spend $200 on a system unless I know it'll work. Does anyone have any experience with this product?

I am not a fan of the BeerBox. I have only used it a couple of times, but I have had some issues getting a smooth, non-foamy pour. I have also used an old-style Tap-a-Draft that did much better in this respect.

If you can, invest the money in a fridge or chest freezer to convert into a kegerator. Soda keg systems are way superior.

My advice is to get another or different fridge. A nice kegerator is a nice thing to have. I'm leery about those pseudo kegerator things.

For $200 you could get a nice new fridge/freezer or a CL fridge and the fixings to go with that keg. I like having 2 taps and could wish for a third or fourth for variety.
