Ok, been homebrewing for about a year. All grain. 5 gallon system. I have wanted to use WLP002 for awhile and had a random inspiration.

Battle of Britain was a huge win for Britain against Germany and a turning point for WWII. So figured what the hell. Make a recipe with a story.

German malts 100# Vienna. Then all English Hops battling out air raids of 0.15 oz of Fuggle every minute from 60 - 45 mins. Then EK Goldings every minute from 30 - 15 minutes. Then a 0.5 oz of both at the FO.

Then of course a dry hop of both at the end. WLP002 Yeast.

Awesome? or Stupid? what would you change?

Beersmith calculates 62 IBU, 1.072, 13 SMU, 6.7%.

Kinda similar, but my "Occupied Territory" ISA has German malt overtaken by English yeast and American hops. I nearly called it "Potsdam Pale," but I couldn't come up with a Russian ingredient. :)

Nice! I like that. How did it turn out with the German malts and American hops? I ended up brewing it anyway this morning. Turned out to be a good brew day. Now...we wait.

It was excellent. Predominantly Vienna, with Burton IPA yeast, and all late hops/whirlpool/dry hops. Only 3% but tasted like a full IPA!
