So I have my first all grain BW in primary for 3+ weeks. I know the general consensus is to bulk age in secondary, then add oak chips 2 weeks or so prior to botteling. I was thinking of an alternative plan.
Bottle directly from primary. Instead of adding chips to fermenter couldn't I boil the oak chips with the priming sugar, filter out the chips, cool and add to botteling bucket? The "oakiness" liquid should be enough. Any thoughts?
