Definitely can’t wait to drink it!! Ill let you know how brew day 2 goes and how batch 1 drinks in a few weeks when its carbed up! THANKS AGAIN

I've got my Hops Harvest brew coming along right now but once that's done I'll be making this again with my revised vanilla schedule. I can't wait!

I used priming sugar. The only adjustment I made to the recipe was replacing the LME with an equivalent amount of DME. Turned out nice. Vanilla flavour was somewhat uneven from bottle to bottle, so I may need to stir the bucket a bit more when I bottle.

Next batch of this will likely be an AG version with two-row as the base. I'll probably do it sometime before the snow starts flying.

Update:
We have bottled and keg our 10gal batch of this beer;
Forgot the DME at my house (bottled at my buddies) so we used regular table sugar.
This has been carbing since Sept 22. (just shy of two weeks)
Had a special guest over to the house last night so I cracked one bottle of this. I am very happy with the results. The other two consumers gave positive reviews.
Going to try and hold off on the keg and make the bottles stretch for a while. Luckily I have other stuff to drink.
I will be brewing this again likely later this month. We talked about splitting our next 10 gal batch up and using coffee instead of vanilla.
Ill keep updating as I drink and brew this beer!
After typing this I find myself nearly salivating and craving this specific beer. I really need to get a more established pipeline!
Again, Thanks for the recipe!

Glad you liked it! I should be bottling my latest brew this coming weekend and then I'll get another batch of Bad Kitty on the go myself.

Just brewed an all-grain version with Maris Otter yesterday. Hope it's as good as the first batch.

You'll have to let me know how that turns out. The brew I have fermenting now is my first with MO but if you get good results with it for Bad Kitty I may try it that way.

Will do. I was going to use 2-row, but I decided I should use a British malt instead.

I actually just bottled a MO/Fuggles SMaSH to make room for this batch. That was my first go at using MO. Hoping it turns out well.

Brewing this for the 2nd time on Wednesday!
Have been enjoying batch 1! This will be another 10 gal batch and I think we might split it up and do one with coffee instead of vanilla.
I’ll keep it posted how it goes!

I bottled my second batch of Bad Kitty on November 15th. This time I used Maris Otter LME for a change. I'll crack my first one open this Saturday and see how it turned out. I'm really looking forward to it!

Next up, Aventinus clone again.

OK...Saturday has come and gone. Don't keep us in the dark! How did it turn out?

Turned out pretty good. Definitely more malt punch than with the DME. I think I'm also getting a bit more character out of the non-base malts. Vanilla presence is good.

Might try it with 2-row next time to see how much of a difference there is.

This batch turned out very well. I'm liking the difference with Maris otter. The chocolate and vanilla notes are what they should be, I think this turned out to be a very nice winter Porter!

Just bottled my third batch of this. Used MO LME and I perceived the sample to have more chocolate than the previous batches that were split with MO and Light DME. Should be carbed up around xmas... some going out as gifts. Ill post back on how it turns out!

Planning to brew it up again later this month! Might try to add some lacto sugar... any comments on that idea?

My latest attempt I used all MO LME as it was a sale. I also added 1 cup of my home made vanilla extract and 1 cup of cold brewed locally roasted coffee.
It is great. I think Ill be sticking with the MO. I have a batch sitting in secondary right now that I added coffee and vanilla into but that doesn’t have MO. I should know after that batch is bottled if the MO is the winner.
Thanks again
