Hi,

Just a quick introduction - Long time craft beer snob but newbie on the brewing side. Thought I would give it a shot and so the wife bought me a Mr. Beer kit for my birthday. Not really what I was hoping for, but I gave it a shot. Doesn't take a genius to realize that the 'add water and wait' approach isn't really brewing. Mr. Beer is a bit like an EZ Bake oven for a Pastry Chef.

So, after going through the 2 kits, I went out and bought the standard starters kit. Had a lot of fun brewing a few kits and stinking up the house, and have read quite a bit both online and with books (obsessive personality that needs to know everything about everything). Haven't produced beer that I find to be exceptional yet, but I know a little about the practice makes perfect concept.

Looking forward to learning more, and thought I'd sign up after lurking here for a few months. So, hello!
