I have a few empty liquor bottles saved under the cabinet from a few years ago. Are they usable for mead or wine or should I just stick to using wine bottles and toss the liquor bottles out? I know the liquor bottles wouldn't work for beer or cider, as they would most likely break due to C02 pressure from active carbonation.

I've used them on occasion when I didn't have enough wine bottles.

Some don't have the right diameter hole for a standard cork. But that's the only problem I've had.

I use them all the time. I'm developing quite the collection from the bar at my restaurant. I prefer whiskey bottles that have corks.
