I'm curious what the inside of these is like. Does it have a hollow where stuff can get caught like a standard ball valve? Or is it more like an encapsulated ball valve?

This view suggests it's just a ball valve, but with a butterfly valve type actuator, I guess...

Cheers!

I know it doesn't answer your question, but are you looking for a quick clean ball valve? If so, I would recommend the brewer's hardware model or better yet, the Brewha model. On the downside, they are not as low profile as a butterfly valve. I own both, are awesome. The BH hybrid valve looks like a solution in search of a problem. Hope this helps, otherwise apologies for the spam.

Unfortunately that took that picture from the wrong side (and haven't responded to my message) to know if there's a pocket of grossness in there.

I was hoping to find one I don't even have to disassemble. This is for my hop dropper which I recently disassembled and found a moldy hop pellet in. Encapsulated ones are typically big money but I had seen the BrewHa one which is full bore and definitely an option.

The only valves I've seen that can be thoroughly cleaned with no disassembly are butterfly valves. For hop droppers, these have the added virtue of helping to dislodge any stuck pellets.
