Anyone ever tried fermenting chocholate syrup?

Most home brewers and wine makers will use cocoa powder in their recipes with much success. I would do a few Google searches, I came across a ton of websites and posts dealing with fermenting chocolate syrup, brewing with cocoa powder and so on.
It's do-able, but you may find that using cocoa powder more efficient for your recipe.
 
I think its not so much of which would be better, but can it be done. Kind of like the first person to pull out coffee beans out of bird turds and saying to self Can still make coffee out of this
 
I used Nestle Quick. One gallon batch just sugar water and Nestle. It was a long ferment. Probably due to the fact that I just threw it together as an experiment without too much regard. It's hot, but the chocolate comes through wonderfully.
