Yep. Completely nerded out when my shipment of beakers, vials and Petri dishes arrived today to get going in yeast slanting.

every time you buy new gear?

I'm so excited about the first keg I've bought I think I might just scream and / or dance around the house when it gets here.

:ban::ban::ban::ban:

the kegs were pretty exciting. I got a really nice kettle for my birthday one year and that was exciting to.

I still get excited when a 50 lb sack of grain shows up at my door too.

Hahahaha. I totally get it. I feel like I might just pass away once it gets here. I can't wait to play with it and listen to its little metal noises and clean it, sanitize and then drink out of it. I'm so excited about this I feel like I'm a 11 year old girl before christmas day.

Yep, know the feeling. Get every time I simply walk around the lhbs even if I don't get anything.

I get that feeling even when I buy a sachet of yeast or an oz of hops. Maybe I am a touch easily amused but brewing and brewing related stuff makes me happy.

This right here is why I don't think I'll ever become a professional brewer. I know that the instant it became a job, I'd lose the warm fuzzies and start worrying about it.

Ditto! I also love opening up my fridge and seeing a bunch of metal bags filled with hops and more hops! It's very exciting. :mug:

Ohhhh, but unless you get SUPER HUGE you'll still be buying fun stuff and enjoying it, no? I have a few friends who own local breweries and they're still VERY excited about the whole deal.

It would still be exciting to get a shiny new fermenter or a big shipment of hops, but I think making the jump from brewing what I'm in the mood for to brewing what I think will appeal to a wider audience might take some of the fun out of it.

Maybe I am just a pessimist or a realist or something. I just know I am not a consistent/good enough brewer to go pro yet. I also know I do not quite have the business sense to be there either. I would like to be competent enough to be able to open a brewpub with a friend some day though.

I know it may sound completely silly right now, but I fully intend to have my own brewery. It's gonna brew beer in tribute to awesome women everywhere. An American Pale Ale named Rosie the Riveter, a Champenoise named Joan of Arc and others.

I might be redoing my whole keggle. I have been looking at cam locks and all sorts of other fun toys to add including a chugger pump. When it is all said and done, I will be recirculating ice water through my immersion chiller with a fountain pump while whirlpooling in the kettle with the chugger pump. Everything will have quick disconnects. I feel the warmth while I contemplate hitting the order button.

Yeah, I felt good the day I fired up this guy for the first time...

More power to you. There should be more prominent women in brewing!

I also get super excited for new stuff to come. I ordered stuff to expand my kegerator to two taps the other day and I have been clicking on the tracking number like twenty times a day to see where it's at

I love it, but my wife just shakes her head. She doesn't get it at all. I love getting the text message from FedEx telling me my package was just delivered.

My biggest problem is that whenever I spend $$$ on something, she feels the need to spend just as much, if not more, on herself. So every dollar I spend is doubled or tripled. That keeps me in check a bit (but not too much). :D

Hahah. I buy my gear with my own income and my husband still frowns upon it.

I have a bunch of new brewing toys waiting for me when I get home from deployment (soon!). It's gonna be even better than Christmas.

I get that feeling every time I can clear up enough time to actually make it to the lhbs, let alone actually get something for brewing.
