Hi folks,

I've been thinking recently about setting up a wheat beer and have a question. I've flavored with about every type of sweetner out there (dextrose, brown sugar, mollasses, etc.) but am wondering about wether or not its possible to brew with caramel.

When I say caramel, I'm talking about the kind that is just molten sugar (http://www0.epinions.com/content_2164170884).

Any idea as to if it would cause any problems or not work for any reason? Would it make a small/big/no change in the beer?

Thanks much,

Josh

I have caramalized priming sugar with a small blow torch before bottling and it made no appreciable difference.
Of course, priming sugar is a tiny contribution to the final flavor.

I would guess that if used in a large quantity, it would have to make a diffference.
similiar to crystal malt I would guess.
