Hello all. I have recently gained an interest in home brewing my own beer. Some friends are avid beer brewers and they come up with some pretty great tasting beers so I figured I'd try it out. This past weekend I went to my local HBS and got a starter kit and an ingredient kit to make American Light, as it was recommended as a good fool proof starter beer. Both kits are made by Brewers Best. Last night I brewed it up and its is sitting in a dark warm corner of the house in the fermenter. I look forward to many more delicious craft beers in my future.

The name comes from what we do best in the summer. Relaxation for us is sitting around a campfire and having some beers.

Welcome! By the way, when you say "warm" location, do you mean like 68 degrees? most ale yeasts like that temp range. Fermenting warmer can cause some mild off flavors (or not so mild as the temps gets too high). And Lager yeasts like it even colder.

Good luck! Hope it turns out great!

Welcome :mug:
That temp should be good, as long as it's and ale.
If it's supposed to be a lager, then it will need to be cooler.
