After looking at countless builds finally decided to jump in and build a keezer but didn't want to do a standard collar build. Started out with a holiday 5.0cu I picked up for $25. Been working on it after work here and there for about two weeks and decided I'd upload a few pictures of the progress. I always overbuild everything so it's turning into a tank but should last long time and keep everything hidden out of sight since it will be going into my kitchen. Still have lot to do but here's the build so far. Started off with a 12 inch collar to give it the height for 3rd keg and bring it up to a comfortable height to me. I chose to not use the factory lid and opted to go with 3/4 inch birch and 1 1/2" of r6 poly insulation for inside collar and lid encase i want to repurpose it as a fermenter later. Will have two pc fans inside box to circulate air. I made the frame it sits on with bit of wiggle room both in width and length encase I ever get a slightly larger freezer can reuse the build and at most build a larger tap box which will be attached using angle brackets for easy removal if that happens. Still have trim work and few coats of poly but starting to come together. Not to great at carpentry work and found out early the gate is bent on the old table saw I had stuffed in the back of the shop so having to cut everything by hand has made it more challenging than I first thought was going to be. I'll post more pictures as get farther along.
