Hi,

I have just done my first brew with the coopers DIY kit and selected the English Bitter Kit, went through all the processes and bottled it all up and it has now been bottled for about three weeks.

I used the PET bottles that came with it and added two coopers carb drops to each bottle, but on trying to drink the stuff have quiet a stone tonic taste to it, I presume this is from over carbonation.

The drops say use one for a 345 - 375 ml bottle and two for 740 - 750 ml bottle (leaves out the 500ml bottles that I have)

So my questions are;

1. What should I do with the bottled up beer that I have?

2. What shall I do for the next batch to improve it? I am thinking of trying a Muntons Gold smugglers brew?

Any tips would be most appreciated and I can imagine that this has all been asked before but I am nervous about the ongoing costs etc and want a bit of reassurance lol

Thanks in advance!

I would give it more time. Try one or two a week over the next month or so and see if it improves. It is also recommeded to have the bottles in the fridge for a at least a couple days.
