I don't have one for a cream ale, but I use Columbus hops in a wheat beer (wheat, 2 row, oats) that has a really nice cream soda aroma. It might just be the interplay of these ingredients that makes it happen.

It's a straightforward beer really. With a 5.5 US gallons batch size:

60% Wheat (6.25 lbs)
32% 2 Row (3.25 lbs)
8% Rolled oats (0.85 lbs)
0.1 oz Columbus @ 60
1 oz Columbus @ 5 & 0
US-05

It's somewhere between 25 and 30 IBUs. Bitterness is about the same if you omit the small 60 minute addition and bump the 5 minute addition back to 10.
