I have some French oak chips soaking in bourbon and can't decide which style to put it in. Anyone have any experiences with doing something similar to either style??

I'm not sure if this has any bearing on your decision, but my experience tells me that those with a pallet for stouts are more likely to embrace an oaked bourbon adjunct than amber drinkers.

I agree with olllllo. I've had a few bourbon cask aged beers and the better ones have always been stouts.

I've never seen an oaked amber, there might be a reason. Oaked stouts or porters can be great!
