The base is made from Rexroth extruded aluminum and was designed so that I can brew horizontally and store it vertically in a utility closet when not in use. I could also brew vertically with the stand if I didn't have any pumps, but it may require a little more support on the back side to do so. I have no plans for gravity brewing vertically so it's a non-issue currently.

The kettle setup is virtually identical to the "electric brewery". The HLT has a 50ft stainless coil that is used to recirculate and maintain the mash temperature. Once the mash is complete, all I have to do is move the outputs from the pumps to fly sparge and transfer to the boil kettle.

I'm in the process of redoing the controls. Currently I have a BCS460, but I'm a controls geek by trade so I enjoy tinkering with different methods. I'll probably be selling the BCS460 in the near future.

So far I have brewed two recipes with this setup (Bells Two Hearted Clone and an Irish Red) and I was very pleased with the results of both. Cheers!
