I have a friend who wants me to brew some beer for him. He thinks Fat Tire from New Belgium is to bitter so scratching my head at what I can come up with without doing a lager that takes months...

Plenty of malt forward styles you could try. A traditional Irish Red, brown ale, mild, Heffeweissen, or Belgian Dubbel would all be tasty styles with very low hop presence. I find Irish Red to have wide appeal and be pretty fool-proof, just be careful you're using a traditional style recipe since increasing hops is a popular modernization for this style.

Have a friend who is the same way. Amber ale recipe from more beer is his new favorite. The one with a carmel nutty taste.(says description).

I am making this recipe again with same white labs yeast its a great beer.

Whatever you brew will be wasted on him. Your friend doesn't really like beer. But he heard you're into homebrewing, and is trying to be a supportive friend. You'll no doubt brew up something on the mild, malty side, and he'll probably be able to drink it, but deep down, he'd rather be drinking a Miller. Of course, to be polite, he won't admit that, and will tell you how "drinkable" your beer is, but at the end of the day, he'd rather be drinking his Miller, and you'd rather not waste 6 hours of your weekend brewing a beer for someone who isn't as into it as you are.

Continue to offer him sips/glasses of whatever you brew, and he'll keep telling you it's "nice, but not for me," but don't waste a day on a batch neither you nor him will really enjoy. Just brew for yourself.

He sees how much money I "save" (yeah he didn't have to buy the gear!) so he wants to do the same. And he WILL be over working as brew slave so someone else can be wet from washing stuff all day! I will look into the irish red and see what I can come up with. He does like mass produced lagers but to me they are blah tasting...
