Just brewed my first apple wine and bought a commercial airlock from my local brew store. However, when I put the airlock in some of the alcohol (whiskey) dropped into the wine. Is this bad?
If you are talking about a few drops in 5- gallons, there shouldn't be much impact on flavor. Since whiskey is 40% alcohol, there is no risk of infection. In the future you may want to use vodka, as the flavor will definitely not be affected.
