I am sure this is not the smartest question but I am about to go from picnic taps to a full kegerator conversion and was scouting some towers. I found a good one from beveragefactory.com and in it's description it says the dispense system is "air cooled". Am I wrong in assuming that the tower works simply by connecting the tubes to the out line and then pulling on the tap to dispense the beer? If so, what does air cooled dispense mean? Thanks very much!

It means there is a fan that blows cold air from the freezer up into the tower keeping the beer in the line cold.

I don't see anything on that page about cooling. It would not be hard to add though. Do a quick google of 'beer tower fan' and there will be many suggestions.

I'm in Springfield.

I have glycol cooled lines, so I'm not the expert on air cooling. From my experience though, I can say I learned the importance of cooling the lines. Thinking about it a little more, I know some people do get away without cooling the towers (I had 16 feet of lines not properly cooled).
